It looks like the new Picard show finally has a name. CBS released a couple of teaser pictures and a short video that looks like the new show is going to be called what people have already been calling it..."Picard" tied to the "Star Trek" name and next to the Discovery log. That definitely means that this show is going to continue the expansion the franchise on CBS All Access. It was also announced that Amazon has bought the rights to show the new series in countries outside of the United States.
The new show is rumored to be set roughly 20 years after the events in "Star Trek Nemesis" and just after the destruction of Romulus as seen in the 2009 re-boot movie "Star Trek. Patrick Stewart is said to be heavily involved in all aspects of the show's production from the story writing to the actual filming,so it will be interesting to see his take on this period in Jean-Luc Picard's life.
We'll pass along any new info about "Star Trek Picard" as we hear about it. In the meantime, here is a video link to the Twitter post from yesterday.
